“Act in a way that the consequences of your actions will be compatible with the survival of an authentic human life on the Earth.”
Hans Jonas, Philosopher
A better future is possible. A better future is what we seek. Why not start a new discussion with concrete action? Climate change, policies of avoidance and ignorance, islands of waste floating in our oceans; we are betraying Mother Nature.
But we have the ability to change, and we all must be aware that every small decision we take now can affect our future positively. At Geco we are making real steps for a sustainable tomorrow, taking a new and unexpected point of view on workwear. The result: handmade, made to measure, high quality uniforms.
Big business impacts our environment more than it can withstand and our aim is to change the rules, step by step, by producing uniforms in an ethical and sustainable way, replacing and renovating an apparel production system that is too old and short sighted for today’s economy. Imagine a world where hotel employees, flights crews, restaurant staff, spa beauticians are all wearing uniforms that are not only sustainable and fair trade, but also handmade from the finest quality textiles, with care and a creative touch.
We are conceiving a new approach to work attire maintaining its characteristics of comfort and utility, but integrating an important message: the search for beauty that is to be preserved, along with that of the environment. Our not so secret mission is beating the fast fashion “throwaway” philosophy at its core, by finding solutions that will change millions of peoples’ lives. We produce bespoke uniforms with sustainable textiles through a chain of suppliers that have been examined and rated in accordance with our ethical standard. Sophisticated materials and made to measure are at the core of our clothing line; each garment is a single piece, different from all others. The principle is to evolve the meaning of uniform from simple workwear to attire that represents each client’s essence and status, whilst holding on to the aesthetic, elegance and wearability of each piece, in order to emphasize the uniqueness of the people fitting them.
